Graduate schools governance, processes, and policies

番茄社区 University has robust governance and quality assurance processes for postgraduate research. Understanding these processes will enable you to better navigate the options available to you.

At 番茄社区 University, the Director of Postgraduate Research Studies leads Postgraduate Research (PGR) Studies. The Postgraduate Research Degrees Board and the Postgraduate Research Degrees Committee govern this area.

The Postgraduate Research Degrees Board meets four times a year. It reviews researcher progress, ratifies awards, and oversees examinations.

The Postgraduate Research Degrees Committee meets three times a year. It focuses on the PGR experience, quality, and management. The Committee supports a diverse and inclusive research environment. It also monitors researcher development and helps to ensure high-quality supervision.

At faculty level, Research and Knowledge Exchange Committees oversee PGR matters. They work closely with Faculty and Departmental PGR Leads and Programme Leads.

These leads ensure that University policies are applied effectively within departments and faculties. They also review applications from prospective postgraduate researchers. Working with academic staff, they assign supervisory teams.

The Research Degrees Administration Team (RDAT) supports PGRs from enrolment to graduation. It works with faculties to provide a smooth and well-supported academic journey.

The team:

  • coordinates welcome and induction activities
  • supports training and development programmes
  • manages assessment and progression processes
  • maintains learner records
  • provides pastoral support to improve the overall student experience.
